Take a minute to explore the Holiday Shop & Hop décor. Tucked away in the corner, you’ll find a reindeer ready to lift off in a Santa hot air balloon while three carolers prepare to sing a song. The stained-glass Christmas tree window is beautiful.

Attending the Holiday Shop & Hop is best done when you’re wide awake, and there are fewer avatars around you. Good luck with both. Wearing roller skates helps you navigate the 18 shopping regions. You can refer to Fab Free’s gift list or use Second Life’s Community page to see all the participating vendors. Then plan your strategy. You might not have time to click on every gift, so focus on what you want most and visit those stores. I love all the Shop and Hops, but the graphics can be quite a challenge. Pull in your draw distance, clear your cache, and use a simple AO. The event ends on January 4.

For this article, I’m going to write about the Holiday Shop & Hop gifts that most women would feel comfortable wearing. The style, color, and length are all important. I don’t know about you, but I love gowns, especially gold ones. They are enchanting and romantic. Accessorize it with your favorite diamond or gold earrings, a bracelet, and gold heels, and then visit your favorite ballroom.

So, this is what I chose from the shopping event.

Sofia’s Raindrops gold Gown is worn with Truth Soiree hair with Lights Rigged, and DE Boutique Moly Heels. The setting is at the Winter Ice Christmas Fest.

Sofia’s Shop & Hop gift is pure elegance. It’s stunning. The Raindrops Gown has a patterned bodice with a full skirt glistening with raindrops. It has a white fur jacket that rests below the shoulders, which perfectly complements the gown. 

Poison Rouge’s black Charlize Dress is daring, but you know you want to wear it. Worn with Truth Luster Brunette hair at Inspire Space Park.

Queen’s Forever Gown wraps around you like a silk sheet. It’s worn with Truth Imani Brunette hair at Angel Manor’s Rose Theatre.

Flower Dreams Nana is a mini dress with a cut-out bodice. The hud features eight textures. The setting is a private sim.

There were several other dresses I selected that I couldn’t try on because I don’t have the new LauraX. For one, Purple Moon’s gift was a Sequin Set, a Nari Top, and a Sasha skirt. May 24’s Eva sweater dress has extended shoulders, a short length, and five colors.

For accessories, NaaNaa’s Twinkle Necklace has a charm bracelet look, and Kunglers’ gift, dangling multi-texture earrings, would be perfect for any of the above photos. Miamai’s STAR Hair Barrette has 14 gem colors, 11 pearls, and 4 metals. What a lovely last-minute touch to a special outfit. 

I haven’t tried it on yet, but I know I’ll wear GGVG Fashion’s Christmas outfit. It doesn’t have your typical Christmas colors. The jacket has a fur collar and a snowflake design. There’s fur on the pants, and it comes with boots. Belle Epoque is offering a red leather, hug-your-body Susana Dress. Great style and color.

Peace On Earth Hunt: Part Two

Good Day Faithful Readers,

    As I mentioned before I am slowly getting  through the Peace On Earth Hunt.  I am trying to do it in stages.....well because,  its ah HUGE hunt.  There are some 297 stops along this grid wide hunt.  So far the prizes have been amazing.  I am really impressed with the quality of the prizes the fantastic creators are setting out this season.

From seasonal outfits,  seasonal landscaping,   seasonal decor to just items we use in our every day Second Life experience, this hunt has something for everyone. There are gifts for men,  gifts for kids,  and gifts for everyone  in between.  A hunt for all ages and genre.      So my first showing is a sweet little cocktail dress that can be used for those festive holiday parties in Second Life.  Actually you could use this cocktail dress for any occasion.  The designer Mariposa has set out this hunt prize that is stop number 49 along the way.  This dress is a rich golden color that is perfect for this holiday season.  Head on over and grab this one up.  Your going to love it.

     Now for some festive boots.   Who does not love reindeer???  Reindeer boots....OMG!  These boots are so adorable you won't want to take them off.  They come to us from  Vicarious Youth.  To make the prize even better,  they come in kid TD size,  baby TD size and adult Slink flat size, and a resize pair that can be adjusted to fit your mesh body.  I love them and am sure you  will too!  Vicarious Youth is stop number 133 on the hunt.  Now dash away to more fantastic gifts on the hunt! 

     I found this great pose gift on the hunt from Poses With Attitude.  Its stop number
12 on the hunt.  I found it great for that holiday pose with family.  I had a little help with this one from some of the girls in my family.  Its a great pose prop  to have when you want something fun and festive for your family photo this Christmas.

The Peace On Earth Hunt

Hello Faithful Readers,
     This week I am going to feature a hunt that has been around Second Life forever.   The POE hunt.   For those of you that are new,  this is a fantastic hunt.  The prizes you will find are from some of the top creators in SL.  I wait patiently all year for this hunt.  If you never do another hunt in SL,  you really should do this one.  This is the longest running hunt in Second Life, having been around for some 10 years.  Now that is quite a feat.  I think we all know how quickly things come and go in SL.  Ten years .... well that kind of speaks of the greatness of this hunt.

     This is just good fun for entire family.  Do it in a group,  with family,  with friends.  On my hunt quest I have found other  hunters that work with me to find the elusive globe that contains the prize.  It really is a fun hunt and you should try it.  My advice is to do a few at a time.  This is a long hunt,  with some 297 prizes to be found.  Some of the stores have multiple prizes to be found.   To get out and enjoy this one.  You won't be sorry.

I am going to show you some of the prizes I have found already.  Every week I am going to get an article out with more of these fantastic prizes. 

Stop number 14 on the hunt sent me to Storax Tree.  There I found the globe that contained this gorgeous candle lit tree.  The POE Glove was pretty simple to find,  and the prize inside it simply beautiful.

     Now something for the ladies.  Some of us have the bento hands.   I myself find them to be wonderful.  With the movements of the bento hands its very realistic.  On to our prize.  At the store slipper I found the prize glove fairly easy. 

Its stop 4 in this hunt.  Inside the globe is a fantastic prize for bento hands,  but also included in the globe are nails for Slink hands as well.  So if you have bento or Slink hands you are going to love these Christmas nails.   The nails are both right and left hands. 

Lastly I am going to show you the most adorable thing I have found on the hunt thus far.  From  Potomac Signature Homes stop 153 on the hunt,  I found these cute little pets.   Now I jumped ahead a bit on the hunt.  I was at Potomac Homes looking at a house there and found the hunt prize instead.  The house was gorgeous too!

These are just a few of the wonderful prizes your going to find once you get going on this grid wide event.  Take your time,  take some friends,  take some family!  Your going to enjoy this one for sure.

The Jerky Turkey Hunt

Hello Readers,

Today I am writing to you about a long standing event that happens every year here in Second Life.  Its a hunt.  As promised I am going to be covering events and happenings in SL that are of interest to you our readers.  This time out there its a hunt. 

As its almost Thanksgiving here in the states,  there is a hunt that has been around for years now that I follow.  I look forward to the Jerky Turkey Hunt every year.   Not only are there fantastic creators involved, its a well put together hunt.  The clues are easy to follow and the prizes ....... well you will see as I am going to post a few.  

I have always found thought that creators should put their best foot forward when it comes to gifts and hunt prizes.  It gives a creator a chance to showcase their product in a favorable light and reach people in a fun way.  The better the prize,  and the quality of that prize,  the more apt you are to go back and shop at that store.  At least that is how it is for me.  Also if you are there to get the prize,  you might join the group if you are so inclined. 

Now on to the hunt.  The Jerky Turkey Hunt has been around Second Life for years.  Its a fun hunt with a total of 53 stops.  Each prize cost 1 linden.  As I am going to show you, some of these prizes are well worth that 1 linden.

This cute little jumper dress is the prize from Mooh.  Its called the Jenny Dress.  I just love how cute it is. 

Now even though its getting a bit of a chill in the air you can still pull off a pretty halter dress.  Everyone needs a nice semi-formal.  This prize from Grumble is no exception.  Its a lovely addition to your wardrobe.  This is the prize from Grumble, which by the way is the starting point of the hunt.

There is a pretty hair to be found as a prize at "Firelight".  I had never heard of this shop before so I took a bit of time looking around.  Its a gorgeous prize that comes
with a hud that allows you two color choices. 

I am going to be doing more of this hunt in the coming days.  I really am enjoying doing this hunt with my Second Life family.  I hope you will enjoy doing this hunt as well!

February Fashions

Today I want to show you a cool outfit from the February round of Fameshed.  Next, I’ll show you some nice things that I found on MP and inworld for those on a tight budget.  I like digging for such outfits because it helps to discover new stores that you don’t really hear about.  Let’s get started.

I adore this casual long shirt with the jeans jacket over it from Zenith.  This costs L$350. It’s a trendy look and I’m wearing it as a dress right now.  I’m wearing the Fenella hair from Truth which comes with and without a hat option and used my ankle boots from Ingenue.  This outfit will be available only for this current round of Fameshed.  I assume that it will be at the Zenith mainstore after the round.

Let’s work out our pixels!  This sports outfit is from Wellmade and its only L$1 on the marketplace! It’s available in both black and white. I use the Maitreya body, so I used the hud but the appliers are available for various mesh bodies and for the standard shape too.  To look sporty, I decided on a ponytail called Careful from Magika and my Vernon sneakers.  Make sure to check out Wellmade, there’s some nice deals there!

Let’s keep it sporty-fun with these fun wedges from Hibicus and they are free on MP.  I am wearing them with these high-waisted shorts from Ibela which are also free and my frilly top is an old group gift from Tres Blah.  

Finally, I found this gown from Hibicus which is free and I’m absolutely in love with it because of the back and colours.  Pick an updo as you don’t want the hair to hide you back!  I’m using Juanuary from Truth which is an old group gift.  I think you should check that store out.  There’s nice stuff for great prices.

Christmas Treats From Our SL Designers

As Christmas approaches, our Second Life designers have been putting out some wonderful gifts for the residents.  For this post, I will be showing you a few gifts you should not miss out and how you can style them for a great overall look.

First of all, this sexy silver dress is a free Christmas gift from Paperarrow and the headband is a gift from Oleander.  The dress looks great to go clubbing and with the festive season, the deer headband is a cute addition.  I opted for the Fenella hair (without the hat) which is available at Truth for and the Kyrra Heels from Ricielli.  Of course, you can always style this dress with a shorter hairdo and a matching pair of silver heels.  You will find the dress and headband near the huge Christmas tree at the paperarrow sim, in the middle.

For the second look, I am wearing the Katia Hoodie from Mooh!  It is a hunt gift from the Peace on Earth Hunt that is currently going on.  I’ve paired this up with my favourite ripped jeans from Blueberry and by ankle boots from Ingenue.  The hair I am wearing is called Enjoy by Elikatira.  Concerning the headband, it’s another gift from Oleander, available at the Paperarrow sim.

I decided to hunt for a few more gifts from the Peace on Earth hunt and I will show you two beautiful evening gowns which you would not want to miss out.  First, this pink gown is from Ghee! and it is very classic and elegant.  I opted for the Sugar updo from Truth (A VIP group gift).  For a classic dress like this, it is nice to go for an elegant updo that will add that lovely touch of glamour.

The next gown is from Sascha’s Designs and I’m very in love with that colour.  This dress has a sexier flair to it and I opted for the Venus hair by Truth.  As for the heels, I’m wearing my Glamistry Dianthus heels for with both dresses. (They are hidden under the dress, so you can wear any type of high heels)

The Halloween "Shop Til You Drop"

In the world of Second Life, we wear a costume of avatar and clothing all the time. Is it any wonder that Halloween is a favorite time of year for many residents? There will be countless theme parties and haunted house destinations to report on. All this fun inspires us to dress up our own avs and homes, with a few shopping adventures. What could be better than finding 20 shops, dedicated to Halloween, all in one location. An avid shopper, we checked out an event that runs until October 31, called "Shop 'Til You Drop." The landing puts one in the center of the sim, with eight blocks of about 20 shops.

Keeping in the spirit, we sent Thing (from the Addams Family), to take notes and pictures. The layout of the streets made it easy to zig-zag through and see all of the shops. We found lots of clothing, for both conventional and mesh and even a shop for "Dinkies." You could also find accessories, to enhance your costume. The Thing gave a thumbs up, at the vendor for Halloween painted nails.

Down the street, we found a shop that sold full scale animated skeleton bots, including a caged go-go dancer that shakes her pelvis and a butler that serves drinks. Thing posed for a picture with three sitting on a coffin, in the classic see no, hear no, speak no evil pose. We are tempted to return to get a prim count, to see if it would work in one of the tower rooms, back at our castle.

 At another furniture shop, Thing got downright silly, trying to give a "hi-five" to a chair shaped like a hand. This relationship would never have worked, because the chair was only into big butts. Thing made up for this silliness, by finding a mesh dress shop, with a gown that Sha would surely find "to die for".

Whenever possible, one should always try the demo, before buying mesh clothing. We returned home, to prepare Sha for a visit, including some custom spooky lighting. The demo was a perfect fit, so by the time you see this, she will already have worn it to her next event, along with some bat wings.

   Before we went to explore, we had no idea of where this story would take us. It turned out to be a lot of fun and even Sha found something she couldn't live without. We recommend that readers get off their butts and send in a hand, before the witching hour arrives.

Some "Fashion For Life" Outfits

I have been roaming through all the  shops in all the sims of the Fashion for Life and buying some lovely spring outfits . There are so many lovely choices it is hard to stop shopping.This outfit is from Sweettea in the Pin Up region and it really is sweet! I comes in a glass of tea which when you wear it to open the animation gives you a drink of tea and a look of enjoyment. It is classy and fun and makes great dayware!

My next purchase was in the David Bowie Tribute sim at ::MM:: . since I fish a lot in sl I like jeans and tees. This one was perfect for the spring weather and I can wear a belly jewel with it too! The jeans are textured and the tee is a shaded purple. 

While I was in that region I stopped in at The Grey Goose , a sponsor of the sim. There was so much to choose from! I sent a slurl to some male friends since it had so many choices for men. I picked up a little black number that will be perfect for clubbing! I think it can be dressed up or down.

The Fashion for Life will be open until March 20 . Don’t miss the opportunity to see a lot of your favorite designers all in one place. Fashion For Life 2016 Preview

I am not renowned for my take on fashion but for the next week and more I will be roaming the sims of the Fashion for Life looking for spring and summer clothes and other goodies. This event is a fundraiser for the Relay for Life which as you know supports The American Cancer Society, whose reach is global.  I was helping to get the Mission houses ready on each sim. There is information in each one to help with resources and information for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers and the general public. I doubt that there is anyone who does not know someone who has not  had this disease touch someone they knew. Stop in to one of the Mission Houses while you are shopping.

“The Clothing Fair 2016 promises to be even better than ever, featuring:Over 150 Clothing Designers,Live Music and DJ’s to keep you entertained while you shop ,Photo Contest, Fashion Shows,Treasure Hunts, And Much, Much, More.”

The Arena Men's Event

 There's a lovely gacha event going on in a sim called, Acerbus Silva. Now this particular event is titled, "The Fantasy Gacha / The Arena Men's Event". Now as you can probably tell it's of course a fantasy gacha aimed towards men with clothing, makeup, accessories, and so forth. Of course though there are some things for women too! Whether it be clothing, makeup, eyes, or even accessories. While this type of theme interests me to a certain degree, I can't be the judge of how good it is, you'd have to see it for yourselfs. Unfortunately they didn't list a start and end date, if it was one, and their website listed in the landmark info does not work either for me.

While this place is really simple in beauty and appearance, it has a lot of vendors  around the sim if your willing to try and remember every one. If it comes to me? Well, I have a habit of forgetting if I was saw something or if I didn't see it yet, but there are a good amount for someone whos wanting to explore or just find cheap things to purchase. In general I find all kinds of gachas to be interesting in their own ways, and while I haven't been to a lot yet, I've seen enough. The one that stuck out to me was one for cute items for your avatars or land, especially themed to sweets, but thats for a different article. 

I really recommend to check the gacha out if your into fantasy or just willing to explore new sims. While the place may not have very much beauty in my eyes, it may in yours. All together I think the beautiful factor has nothing to do with the items there or whatever you may buy, I think just discovering something new is interesting in itself. Like I said earlier, I don't know if there's a start or end date to this event, or if their website on the landmark info will work for you all, because it didn't for me. Have fun exploring and getting nifty items!

The AniMagical Gacha Fair

A wonderful event is going on from August 1st to the 30th, and it is called, "AniMAGICAL Gacha Fair!" in Bounty Reef. The sim is group owned as well, the group being named, AniOFFICIAL. This event basically as it's assumed, which is to buy items from gachas for a very good price. Though small, this beats finding some expensive eye colors, clothes, or even objects on the marketplace or in a regular store. While I am not into the whole magical vibe, the place seems to have more of a Harry Potter tone to it then just anime in general really. This kind of place would be more for Harry Potter fans then just anime style ones, but they do have a selection of kemono mods and skins too. In this particular gacha, you'll find magical themed items like witch costumes, furry type avatars or skins, staffs, and so forth. For someone who isn't into that sort of thing, this is a cute place with cute items. 

 

 Going onto the detail of the sim, I'd have to say it's decent for just being strictly in a building and not having land around it. I was tricked a little bit because in the search bar I just searched, 'AniMAGICAL' and had been teleported in an ocean rather then the store, and on the land there was a sandbox to unpack, which may be linked in a way with this event. To not put it down in any fashion, the buildings pretty decent with it's magic and Harry Potter vibe going on, it just doesn't suit my taste very much, but I can look past it rather then not. If your not an expert in finding things, locating the building just by typing in what I did won't help, you'll have to either go on SL's website or even tumblr, which is where I got the tp link. 

This event seems cute for the most part, not a lot of items, yet, if the amount now is not all they'll have. I didn't buy any items myself from it despite the good prices for gacha's usually, but that doesn't mean I don't recommend going there. If your a nerd for Harry Potter, magic, or anime style items, this is the event and place for you! I hope you have fun because it'll be around for quite awhile, so get there while you can!

Hair Hair Everywhere

IT'S HERE! Or rather IT's HAIR!

That's right my beautiful bunnies, the hair fair is here! From the 11th-26th of July, the yearly hair fair will be happening. There are plenty of new styles and hair fair exclusives; as well as some updates to some older styles. Shopping for a very good cause. A percentage of each sale goes towards Wigs For Kids. Providing natural looking wigs for children whom have illnesses which cause them to loose their hair. Its a wonderful charity and having hair can make a child feel very confident. Trust me I know. The Arcade Is Here!

Hello my beautiful bunnies,

  I am soooo excited! Its here, finally after all the waiting and the teasers; the ARCADE GACHA EVENT is here! So, here are the details, its from June 1st to the 30th. There are nearly a hundred designers with exclusives that are sold at the event. So far, I have picked up the Yummy Necklaces. Aren't they gorgeous?

If you make your way to the event, you should stop by the Pixicat machine. Don't you just love Pixicat? I know I do. The mesh is so sensual and sexy it makes anyone want to show off their beautiful pixels. This month she's offering Temptation, a set of curve clinging corsets aimed at stopping hearts.

And look bunnies, drag the bunny boys along as well. This round of the Arcade Gacha Event also features DRD and some looks for the boys as well. With 20 Items to collect at 75L a play; you can't go wrong. Thanks DRD for showing the guys some love!

Even if the bunny boy in your life won't go with you; you can always make a friend there. Tell me these aren't the cutest most adorable things that you have ever seen! Don't you just want to love them and squeeze them and take them all home forever?

There is so much to see and spend money on...once you are able to get on the sim that is. Since the event opened, I had tried for hours. I jest not my bunnies, hours to get into a full region. But, lucky for me a friend turned me onto this thing called the LazyGuy-Get me in Hud by Brooksie Brooks for 59$L.

You know what it does? It will try to teleport you into a region via landmark every 2.5 secs. So eventually you will get in. Which I totally did. Still it was crowded but, I finally got a chance to try my hands at the machines and scoop some goodies and I tell you what, THE WAIT WAS WORTH IT!

It's so beautifully done, like playing at an actual arcade for awesome prizes. Don't wait to go though, because I guarantee it will be jampacked the whole time. So try to get in when you can.
