Peace On Earth Hunt: Part Two

By Shaza Denver,

Good Day Faithful Readers,

As I mentioned before I am slowly getting  through the Peace On Earth Hunt.  I am trying to do it in stages.....well because,  its ah HUGE hunt.  There are some 297 stops along this grid wide hunt.  So far the prizes have been amazing.  I am really impressed with the quality of the prizes the fantastic creators are setting out this season.

From seasonal outfits,  seasonal landscaping,   seasonal decor to just items we use in our every day Second Life experience, this hunt has something for everyone. There are gifts for men,  gifts for kids,  and gifts for everyone  in between.  A hunt for all ages and genre. So get on out there and get your hunt on.  I am going to post the url for the web site again in case you missed it the previous article: https://peaceonearthsl.wordpress.com/ .

So my first showing is a sweet little cocktail dress that can be used for those festive holiday parties in Second Life.  Actually you could use this cocktail dress for any occasion.  The designer Mariposa has set out this hunt prize that is stop number 49 along the way.  This dress is a rich golden color that is perfect for this holiday season.  Head on over and grab this one up.  Your going to love it.

Now for some festive boots.   Who does not love reindeer???  Reindeer boots....OMG!  These boots are so adorable you won't want to take them off.  They come to us from  Vicarious Youth.  To make the prize even better,  they come in kid TD size,  baby TD size and adult Slink flat size, and a resize pair that can be adjusted to fit your mesh body.  I love them and am sure you  will too!  Vicarious Youth is stop number 133 on the hunt.  Now dash away to more fantastic gifts on the hunt!

I found this great pose gift on the hunt from Poses With Attitude.  Its stop number
12 on the hunt.  I found it great for that holiday pose with family.  I had a little help with this one from some of the girls in my family.  Its a great pose prop  to have when you want something fun and festive for your family photo this Christmas.

That's it for now my loyal readers and friends.  Enjoy the hunt!  I am doing this one with my family.  Its so much fun with all of us racing to find the elusive globe.

Until next time,
Sincerely
Shaza

The Peace On Earth Hunt

By Shaza

Hello Faithful Readers,
This week I am going to feature a hunt that has been around Second Life forever.   The POE hunt.   For those of you that are new,  this is a fantastic hunt.  The prizes you will find are from some of the top creators in SL.  I wait patiently all year for this hunt.  If you never do another hunt in SL,  you really should do this one.  This is the longest running hunt in Second Life, having been around for some 10 years.  Now that is quite a feat.  I think we all know how quickly things come and go in SL.  Ten years .... well that kind of speaks of the greatness of this hunt.

This is just good fun for entire family.  Do it in a group,  with family,  with friends.  On my hunt quest I have found other  hunters that work with me to find the elusive globe that contains the prize.  It really is a fun hunt and you should try it.  My advice is to do a few at a time.  This is a long hunt,  with some 297 prizes to be found.  Some of the stores have multiple prizes to be found.   To get out and enjoy this one.  You won't be sorry.

This is the URL of the website with all the hints and even some peeks at the prizes.

https://peaceonearthsl.wordpress.com/

I am going to show you some of the prizes I have found already.  Every week I am going to get an article out with more of these fantastic prizes.

Stop number 14 on the hunt sent me to Storax Tree.  There I found the globe that contained this gorgeous candle lit tree.  The POE Glove was pretty simple to find,  and the prize inside it simply beautiful.

Now something for the ladies.  Some of us have the bento hands.   I myself find them to be wonderful.  With the movements of the bento hands its very realistic.  On to our prize.  At the store slipper I found the prize glove fairly easy.

Its stop 4 in this hunt.  Inside the globe is a fantastic prize for bento hands,  but also included in the globe are nails for Slink hands as well.  So if you have bento or Slink hands you are going to love these Christmas nails.   The nails are both right and left hands.

Lastly I am going to show you the most adorable thing I have found on the hunt thus far.  From  Potomac Signature Homes stop 153 on the hunt,  I found these cute little pets.   Now I jumped ahead a bit on the hunt.  I was at Potomac Homes looking at a house there and found the hunt prize instead.  The house was gorgeous too!

These are just a few of the wonderful prizes your going to find once you get going on this grid wide event.  Take your time,  take some friends,  take some family!  Your going to enjoy this one for sure.

Until next time,  have much fun,  and as always enjoy your Second Life.

The Jerky Turkey Hunt

By Shaza Denver

Hello Readers,

Today I am writing to you about a long standing event that happens every year here in Second Life.  Its a hunt.  As promised I am going to be covering events and happenings in SL that are of interest to you our readers.  This time out there its a hunt.

As its almost Thanksgiving here in the states,  there is a hunt that has been around for years now that I follow.  I look forward to the Jerky Turkey Hunt every year.   Not only are there fantastic creators involved, its a well put together hunt.  The clues are easy to follow and the prizes ....... well you will see as I am going to post a few.

I have always found thought that creators should put their best foot forward when it comes to gifts and hunt prizes.  It gives a creator a chance to showcase their product in a favorable light and reach people in a fun way.  The better the prize,  and the quality of that prize,  the more apt you are to go back and shop at that store.  At least that is how it is for me.  Also if you are there to get the prize,  you might join the group if you are so inclined.

Now on to the hunt.  The Jerky Turkey Hunt has been around Second Life for years.  Its a fun hunt with a total of 53 stops.  Each prize cost 1 linden.  As I am going to show you, some of these prizes are well worth that 1 linden.

There is a web site with easy to use landmarks,  and even easier clues to follow that will help you along the way with this hunt.  I will say,  follow the clues to the letter,  and you will find your prize.  Your looking for an orange turkey feather.  Here is the addy to the website.

http://evilbunnyhunt.blogspot.ca/p/hunt-hints_7.html

That's the landmarks and hints page of this hunt.  There is also a picture of the item you will be hunting.  This hunt runs until November 30th.   So get out there and get going.  Your going to love it!

Let me show you some of the prizes to be found.

This cute little jumper dress is the prize from Mooh.  Its called the Jenny Dress.  I just love how cute it is.

Now even though its getting a bit of a chill in the air you can still pull off a pretty halter dress.  Everyone needs a nice semi-formal.  This prize from Grumble is no exception.  Its a lovely addition to your wardrobe.  This is the prize from Grumble, which by the way is the starting point of the hunt.

There is a pretty hair to be found as a prize at "Firelight".  I had never heard of this shop before so I took a bit of time looking around.  Its a gorgeous prize that comes
with a hud that allows you two color choices.

I am going to be doing more of this hunt in the coming days.  I really am enjoying doing this hunt with my Second Life family.  I hope you will enjoy doing this hunt as well!

Until next time,

Shaza

The Gacha Garden

By Shaza Denver

Hello Readers,

As promised I am going to send you out on a journey.  Today's journey is an event that has been around for some time: the Gacha Garden.  Who doesn't love gacha!!??

My daughter was kind enough to drop me the LM.  I think she had a motive though. She might be as addicted to gacha as I am.   I mean come on.  Its like finding the prize at the bottom of the cereal box.  You see this fantastic prize.......the rare,  so you just have to keep going till you have it.  This event runs from Nov. 1st  through Nov. 30th. so hurry on over.   Some of the creators have been kind enough to set out gifts for us. How lovely is that? Win....win I say!  I will show you a few of the gifts that I gathered up.

At first it was a bit hard to get in as this is a much anticipated event.   Its pretty easy to teleport in now.

You can read more on how to play at  http://thegachaguardians.com/how-to-play/

Gimme Gacha Productions (127, 238, 25)

This pretty hair wreath from .::Nanika::.  in yellow just screams fall.  I coupled the hair wreath with the free gift they have set out for you.  The earrings are so delicate and such a lovely color.  Let me give you the LM  to the main store for you to check out as well.  The gacha at the event has a few different types of hair wreaths.  The rare will come with a hud that will make available 5 different colors of the wreath.  At 50L a pull thats some deal!  Good luck and enjoy.

Serena Almeria (42/86/2002)

I am going to give you one more sneak look at an item at the Gacha Garden.   This one will be something for your home.  Now if you have never visited Goose,  you really must.  A fantastic creator,  that makes high quality designs for our home and garden.  They are at the gacha garden this round with a outdoor living set that is so comfy looking you just want to melt into it.  At 75L a pull its a real deal. The rare is going to be the bench in PG or adult versions.  They have a great gift set out for you as well.  Get on over and grab it up and try your luck at the gacha.  You won't be disappointed.  Let me give you the LM to the main store.  Go give them a look see.  I think  you will like what you find there.

GOOSE - Home & Garden, Oyster Pond (174, 111, 31)

Enjoy this journey.  I sure did.  My wallet.....not so much!

Take care till next time.

The Kultivate Spring Fashion Event

By Gemma Cleanslate

“Kultivate Magazine in conjunction with AIM is pleased to announce it’s first ever Spring Fashion Event! The Spring Fashion Event will take place February 11 to 26, 2017! This event will consist of fashion shows, a shopping area with exclusives, a special hunt, entertainment, and more!  The Fantasy Angels will also present a special themed show as the finale on February 26, 2017!”  To see what is going on during the event check this website   https://kultivatemagazine.com/spring-fashion-event/

I went over to visit the region to check on what would be for sale and what would be going on .
The build is futuristic and fun to walk . There are 50 fashion designers to shop and the recipient of the event is “Feed a Smile” . I found some lovely spring outfits on display and finally gave in and bought a few outfits .

Here I am on the Runway pretending I am in the show! I am wearing an exquisite creation 'Banu’ by Niles Karas of Flowerdreams.

And my other choice which looked so fresh and light is Prism Dawn in pink (you have choices of color) by Jezzixa Cazalet.  Some of my favorite merchants are here . Two hunts will be going on during the weeks and hints are available on the website too. I will be going back for those! If you are interested in the numerous fashion shows take a look there at the website above.

It is all for a wonderful cause.” Feed a Smile is a project of the RL registered non-profit organization - Live and Learn in Kenya Int'l. (LLK Int'l)  www.llk-selb.de Brique Topaz - (Zeiner) is the real-life Chairwoman of the organization in Kenya and in Germany. LLK Int'l is in its 11th year - and has sent hundreds of children to school.” 1L feeds a child lunch in Kenya so it is really worth something. You have until February 26 to shop your heart out and see the spring fashions.

Fashion For Life 2016 Preview

By Gemma Cleanslate

I am not renowned for my take on fashion but for the next week and more I will be roaming the sims of the Fashion for Life looking for spring and summer clothes and other goodies. This event is a fundraiser for the Relay for Life which as you know supports The American Cancer Society, whose reach is global.  I was helping to get the Mission houses ready on each sim. There is information in each one to help with resources and information for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers and the general public. I doubt that there is anyone who does not know someone who has not  had this disease touch someone they knew. Stop in to one of the Mission Houses while you are shopping.
“The Clothing Fair 2016 promises to be even better than ever, featuring:Over 150 Clothing Designers,Live Music and DJ’s to keep you entertained while you shop ,Photo Contest, Fashion Shows,Treasure Hunts, And Much, Much, More.”
The regions are absolutely stunning each in its own way. Each was created by its own builder and reflects their vision of a great place to shop. The builders of each sim are

Geryn Sloane – Beatles

Null Aries (Mac) - Moulin Rouge

Darkstone Aeon – Narnia

Jara Lowell – Vikings

 Grace Loudon - David Bowie

KT Syakumi, - Bladerunner

The Arena Men's Event

By Bloodykitty

There's a lovely gacha event going on in a sim called, Acerbus Silva. Now this particular event is titled, "The Fantasy Gacha / The Arena Men's Event". Now as you can probably tell it's of course a fantasy gacha aimed towards men with clothing, makeup, accessories, and so forth. Of course though there are some things for women too! Whether it be clothing, makeup, eyes, or even accessories. While this type of theme interests me to a certain degree, I can't be the judge of how good it is, you'd have to see it for yourselfs. Unfortunately they didn't list a start and end date, if it was one, and their website listed in the landmark info does not work either for me.

While this place is really simple in beauty and appearance, it has a lot of vendors  around the sim if your willing to try and remember every one. If it comes to me? Well, I have a habit of forgetting if I was saw something or if I didn't see it yet, but there are a good amount for someone whos wanting to explore or just find cheap things to purchase. In general I find all kinds of gachas to be interesting in their own ways, and while I haven't been to a lot yet, I've seen enough. The one that stuck out to me was one for cute items for your avatars or land, especially themed to sweets, but thats for a different article.

I really recommend to check the gacha out if your into fantasy or just willing to explore new sims. While the place may not have very much beauty in my eyes, it may in yours. All together I think the beautiful factor has nothing to do with the items there or whatever you may buy, I think just discovering something new is interesting in itself. Like I said earlier, I don't know if there's a start or end date to this event, or if their website on the landmark info will work for you all, because it didn't for me. Have fun exploring and getting nifty items!

The Arcade Is Here!

By Syndra

Hello my beautiful bunnies,

I am soooo excited! Its here, finally after all the waiting and the teasers; the ARCADE GACHA EVENT is here! So, here are the details, its from June 1st to the 30th. There are nearly a hundred designers with exclusives that are sold at the event. So far, I have picked up the Yummy Necklaces. Aren't they gorgeous?

If you make your way to the event, you should stop by the Pixicat machine. Don't you just love Pixicat? I know I do. The mesh is so sensual and sexy it makes anyone want to show off their beautiful pixels. This month she's offering Temptation, a set of curve clinging corsets aimed at stopping hearts.

And look bunnies, drag the bunny boys along as well. This round of the Arcade Gacha Event also features DRD and some looks for the boys as well. With 20 Items to collect at 75L a play; you can't go wrong. Thanks DRD for showing the guys some love!

Even if the bunny boy in your life won't go with you; you can always make a friend there. Tell me these aren't the cutest most adorable things that you have ever seen! Don't you just want to love them and squeeze them and take them all home forever?

There is so much to see and spend money on...once you are able to get on the sim that is. Since the event opened, I had tried for hours. I jest not my bunnies, hours to get into a full region. But, lucky for me a friend turned me onto this thing called the LazyGuy-Get me in Hud by Brooksie Brooks for 59$L.

You know what it does? It will try to teleport you into a region via landmark every 2.5 secs. So eventually you will get in. Which I totally did. Still it was crowded but, I finally got a chance to try my hands at the machines and scoop some goodies and I tell you what, THE WAIT WAS WORTH IT!

It's so beautifully done, like playing at an actual arcade for awesome prizes. Don't wait to go though, because I guarantee it will be jampacked the whole time. So try to get in when you can.

Goodluck at the arcade,

        Love Syn.

The Fantasy Gacha Carnival

By Syndra

Come one...come all...to the Fantasy Gacha Carnival! Step Right Up my little bunny darlings!

Come grab your ticket to this round's Fantasy Gacha Carnival. From now until June 5th. Plenty of shopping days left, to scoot on over and see what's in store. This rounds theme is Goth, Demon, Elf, Black Caste and Urt. I am sure that there will be something for each bunny and a few things for those of you not so bunny. That's right guys, you weren't left out. There are a few things for the men as well. The gachas vary as far as price per play goes, but I didn't see anything over 75L a play. Just like every great gacha fair, there are some special things set out by the designers and a few limited edition buys. Don't you just love limited editions? I do!

With designers like !go!, Luas, Tia, On a Lark, and Axix; you would be a bad bunny not to go take a peak. There are over 70 designers with goodies up for grabs. Don't forget, all gacha items are transferable. Collect all the pieces to a much wanted outfit, and trade or sell the duplicates. Everything in moderation though, don't spend all of your extra pennies in one place.

What I won at the carnival...

!gO! Drow Girl White: Top and Apron (Come separately from the gacha machine) Comes in four colors. White, Red, Purple (Commons) and Black (Rare)

It comes with the alpha layer, and I love it. Its super sexy whilst still covering your naught bits. There are matching shoulder Boleros that can be won as well which are really nice. ( I have them but opted not to wear them) 100% rigged mesh and comes in the standard mesh sizes.

   See you there!

The 2014 Christmas Expo and Breedables Fair - Relay for Life

By DrFran Babcock

My boss, Bixyl, suggested I apply to be a blogger for this Relay for Life event, so I applied. I was not surprised to be accepted, because I know that the organizers want as much coverage as possible, and rightfully so! In my opinion, Relay for Life is the best, most selfless thing that goes on in Second Life™.

What is the Expo and Breedables Fair?

This year, the Holiday Expo and Breedables Fair spans six sims, filled with clothing items, things for the house, and breedables. Each year, this off-season Relay for Life event allows some of the best content  creators in SL to sell their wares as long as they offer at least two items for sale in Relay for Life Vendors. Last year I complained that most of the items in the vendors were not worth buying. It seems that the organizers of the event: Dawnbeam Dreamscape, Jessii2009 Warrhol, and Johannes1977 Resident were listening. There are a lot of things to buy that are just lovely. Also, last year, the build was one of the most scrumptious I have ever seen, but it so overwhelmed the merchant’s goods that I wandered around instead of going into the shops.

My Review Rules

I do not accept gifts or freebies to review. I know that I have received some from the creators, and I thank them for their generosity. However, I went to the Expo and looked around, and selected the items I wanted to review. The items that I am showing here follow these basic rules:
1.       I have paid for the items that I review.
2.       I have purchased only items that were in official Relay for Life vendors.
3.       I have chosen the creators and stores that I like.
4.       I don’t review breedables for a number of reasons not suitable for this article.
That said, I again want to praise the organizers of this event with all my heart and soul. I found this year’s arrangement of sims and stores to be much more navigable than last year.

My Three Favorite Things

After going around the sims twice, taking notes, I went back and made three purchases. The purple Emma gown in the photo was purchased from a vendor in Purple Moon. What I love about it is the graceful line and sweep of the gown. The creator smartly added flexi prims to the bottom of the mesh so that there’s lots of movement. I can picture myself wearing this gown to the Nutcracker Ball, which is the annual closing event for Relay for Life.

It was just a coincidence that the next item I bought was the elegant Lazuri jewelry set, complete with earrings, choker, bracelets, and and rings for each hand. Even better, the metal, pearls and gems can all be changed into almost infinite combinations just by touching them, and choosing from a menu. I love color-change items, because then I can wear them with almost anything. The quality of this Lazuri set justifies the price (1100L), because it’s so versatile.

The last item to share is my new friend, the silver dapple unicorn from Demons and Angels. It’s a wearable, so you can “rez” it anywhere. In addition, the flowers and vines in the mane are color change, so I just made the flowers purple to match my gown and jewelry. The unicorn comes in bareback and saddle styles, and it can pose as well as be ridden. It has more features than I could list, and is extremely handsome—or beautiful, because you can even change its gender with the supplied HUD. I had lots of fun riding it around the sims.

While doing so, I found a friend and co-worker wandering around. Gemma Cleanslate looked adorable in her Feyline Santa’s helper costume. Although she had purchased it last year, they were available at the Expo this year. I love Feyline for making the majority of the items in there shop for sale in Relay vendors. I love Feyline for making the majority of the items in their shop for sale in Relay vendors. They have Santa’s Helpers outfits, kilts, and pajamas all in pretty red and green fabrics, and the prices are moderate. I will be buying one of these as soon as I submit this article to the SL Newser.

I recommend the Expo highly this year. Come on down, and if you see me riding by on my as yet unnamed unicorn, say hello. You can access the sims by searching: Xmas Expo in your map. Happy Holidays to all the readers of the SL Newser, and look for more posts from the Expo.

DrFran’s Alt Goes Shopping – Autumn Hunts & Gacha Madness

By DrFran Babcock

Well, DrFran is busy building for Burn2, so she sent me out to see what’s worth buying or finding on the grid. It’s not such a hardship, as she set me up with a few Lindens, even though I am careful not to spend too much. I had much success.

The Autumn Effect Hunt

The second Autumn Effect Hunt (http://depravednation.com/the-autumn-effect-2-0 ) is going on until October 15th, and contains free hunt items that are worth the effort. What I like about hunts is how they sometimes expose me to shops I might never have known existed in this huge virtual world. I fell in love with the flirty mesh micro mini that came from Luckie, a store I had never seen before. For Tango lovers, the top does come with appliers, which I choose not to wear. You can find Luckie here: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/On%20Point/135/198/29 . The hunt object for which you search is a wooden disk with an autumn leaf on it, and the hints on the Depraved Nation website above make them easy to find.

The Arcade Gacha Event

You have to be under a sculpty rock to not know about this round of The Arcade Gacha (http://thearcadeshoppingguide.com  ). This insanely addictive event began in 2012, and has swept the grid like an Ozimal on steroids. The key element in this sale is that you always win and item every time you play a gacha machine, but only a few items per machine are rare or coveted. But wait, there’s more: All of the items are no mod, no copy, but transfer. Thus, a whole economy and lifestyle that is centered on residents trading for the items they want has been created, and an enormous quantity of items find their way to resident sponsored yard sales.

There is no one item that is more desired than any other. For example, DrFran brought a friend to the event—by the way, the build of the Arcade is just gorgeous—and was completely shocked that she wanted to collect the porcelain fairy statues in the gacha created by Baiastice. However, once she saw them, she had to collect a set for herself. The gacha machines can cost from 25-100 Lindens, and you always get one of the prizes. If you don’t like what got, just trade it for something else. Hurry, because the event only runs until the end of September.

Check out the pictures here to see what DrFran’s alt put together. Most of the items are not rare, but still scrumptious:

Gacha One Picture. DrFran’s Alt is wearing:

Shoes: TD Templates: Ladies MESH Zipped Ribbon Flats Green
Stockings: {Sugar Heart} Junk Food Tights ~ Nacho Girlfriend / Salsa
Nightie: Tee*fy Aurora NightDress – Passion
Skin: Glam Affair - Candy – America 4 with Freckles tattoo
Hair: D!va Hair Giz (Type A)(Red amber)
Fish: (Yummy) Sassy Red Fish (packed in a plactic bag and worn unpacked
Backpack: B.C.C I love toast Backpacks-Ham&eggs

Furniture/Accessories:
Apple Fall: His Sideboard RARE (my favorite), Apple Fall Arrow Collection and Jute Rug

Gacha Picture 2 (Close-up)
Bracelet: ASO! National Flag Bracelet (Sweden) gold
Necklace: MG - Necklace - Jazz Hands Frog - Black
Necklace 2: Sleepy Eddy Pocket Watch Necklace – Black

PURE Perfection Hunt

I stumbled across this super-easy hunt while I was looking for a hunt item at PURE Perfection. You have to find the 15 sculpt hearts that are sprinkled obviously throughout the store. I am wearing just two of the prizes (5 Lindens apiece) in the picture: The Sexy Nerd Outfit (complete with adorable eyeglasses and a smartphone to wear) and the Mesh Cowboy boots, which really just look like tall black boots—perfect for wearing with everything! PURE Perfection can be found at: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Commerce%20Island/50/210/22

So, get going, save Lindens, and have fun trading your gacha items.
